Our Trip to San Diego

This is Addilyn at 4 weeks old wearing the same blessing dress that Nona wore when she was a baby.
Man, that little girl is CUTE!
Taggert could not get enough of the water! He had a hayday!
Nona and Papa with little Addi-cakes.
Here we are at Hotel Del. The weather was so beautiful when we were there.

Bryan is in Truckee right now with my dad and brothers. It totally sucks being away from him. I talk to him a million times a day but I still miss him like crazy. He CLAIMS he misses us but It hink he is enjoying his freedom and time with the boys. They went hiking today.... a FIVE hour hike! He said it was pretty grouling but absolutely beautiful!! They all went swimming at the top of the mountain. Craig also has them eating really healthy. Ryan and Kevin keep saying they didn't know they were being sent to Fat Camp!

So, to keep busy, all us wives (except Kel) have gathered at my mom's where we are hanging out with "The Boys" (Ben and Jerry), watching chick flicks, shopping, and having a ton of fun! We have also taken a million pictures. I suppose I should include a few.

Addi-cake's Room

Addliyn's room is so beautiful! I am so happy with how it turned out. And I should be, since I almost put myself into labor painting the trim and then made Bryan paint the rest, only to decide that I didn't like the pink we had chosen. So, 4 days before she came, my fabulous husband repainted it... with a little help from my family. The details were all done by Hillary, Abby, and me. (Special thanks to my mom who was the mastermind behind all the cute ideas.)

The amazing bedding and window coverings were made by Aunt Hillary. She did SUCH an amazing job. I can't decide which I love more: the bedding or the curtains. The letters on the wall were a gift from Nona and Papa. I am completely in love with them! All we need to make the room complete are pictures of Addi in the frames instead of strangers!

Carter's Room

Our Cute Kids!

Carter found these socks in my DI pile in my closet and REALLY wanted to wear them. As for the snot sucker, that is his new "rocket". I don't really mind as long as he doesn't put it in his mouth. YUCK!
Carter looks HUGE next to his 2 week old sister!
We were taking a girl's nap together on the couch. I am still so tired!

Blub, Blub!

As previously mentioned, Carter is in swim lessons. He is actually starting to enjoy them, although every time we put him in his bathing suit he tells us that he would rather go to Runkin's pool or Grammie's pool to swim. It all becomes worth it, though, when he gets a sucker at the end of his swim lesson. He cuts in front of all the other kids to get it. One track mind. I try to stop him but there's only so much I can do from the other side of the gate. Above is a picture of him doing the "monkey walk" to the steps.
Here's Carter diving for a ring at the bottom of the pool. He can't get himself down there (too buoyant, I guess) so Bryan gives him a shove. But he always comes up with a ring. It's so amazing how fast they learn!!
Carter loves to jump to Bryan. Usually he'll wait until Bryan counts to 3 but sometimes he just gets too excited and a little ahead of himself. By the way, these are pictures of Ryan and Hill's pool. It is so so pretty!! By the way, the noise a fish makes is "blub, blub". Not to be confused with "glub, glub" which is what we taught him. Too cute!

Our Little Family Walk

It was only in the 80's last week so we took advantage of the nice weather and went on a walk to Runkin and Hillary's house to see the pool. It was Addilyn's first time out of the house. She is so little on Bryan. We were barely out the door before she fell asleep for the entire walk!
Carter absolutely LOVES his bike that he got from Grandma Great and Granky for Christmas. Every time we go into the garage we have to peel him off it to get him in the car. It's awesome because we can push it and control the steering. When he gets a little older we can change it so he can control the steering and take off the bar that we use.
Papa and Carter on our walk. Carter LOVES his Papa. When my mom got here after Addilyn was born Carter was very confused as to why Papa wasn't here as well. Every time someone came to the door he would run to the door yelling, "Papa! Papa!" Poor kid. Don't worry, it was only a few days before Papa came. They had a lot of quality time together.
I know infants sleep all the time but how cute is this? Addi is out cold on Bryan all comfy!
(Bryan thinks this picture is ugly... what a mean Daddy!) I love that Addilyn is finally starting to be awake a little more. She is so cute and although she's not a lot of fun right now, we are really enjoying her. She is even starting to fit into some of her clothes. Well, I should say, she is starting to fit into all of the hand-me-downs she has gotten from the Ladies.

Man, she's cute!!

Why does he hate me?

Carter has decided that he could really do without me. He would rather play with Daddy or his toys. He also isn't eating very much. Hopefully this is just a little stage he's going through. But, all that aside, he is still so stinking cute!!! He is also starting to tell us when he is poopy. I know this doesn't really sound all that exciting to a normal person but it's really exciting to me because it's a sign of being ready to potty train. It will be a glorious day when we only have one in diapers again. I can't wait. But I think I need at least another month to get ready for it. We'll see.
Addilyn is doing great. She's eating like a champ and sleeping pretty well. She eats every 3 and a half to 5 hours which is awesome for a breastfed baby. My mom is gone now but I am still so spoiled with Bryan being around to help out. I think I am in for a major wake up call in July when he's gone.
Carter is in swim lessons right now. He is doing great. He's not really learning to swim as much as he is learning how to get to the side of the pool and "monkey walk" to the steps of the pool. He still stinks at kicking but that's ok. Beggers can't be choosers, I guess.
Tonight Bryan nd I are going with Kel and Rob to see Ben Folds and John Mayer in concert. Bryan is really excited to see Ben Folds. I am just hoping to see Jessica Simpson. :) It will be fun to actually go do something with Kel and Rob. We hang out but it's always just hanging out at home because we can't afford to do much else. This concert is Bryan's birthday present from me. (it is actually more from Grandma and Grandpa because the tickets were bought with my birthday money from them. hehe) So, we are making an evening of it... dinner and all. I don't remember the last time we did something like this. Dinner and a concert. Oh wait, yes I do. It was to see Jerry Seinfeld (SO SO SO FUNNY) when I was pregnant with Carter. It's been too long. Oh, to be rich...!

Kisses for baby sister.

Carter asked for the first time today to hold Addilyn. His exact words were, "Hold it?" Who can resist that? He did really well. He actually laughed the whole time. Things on the homefront are still going great. I found out the hard way that strawberries and Addliyn don't mix. I think that's what it was anyway. She is feeling better now but between 5:30 and 7am she was really fussy. My recovery is going really smoothly. I am so spoiled having Bryan home and my mom here helping out. My house it the cleanest it's been for a month (there are only so many times in a day you can bend over and pick something up when you are really prego). But with each day I am feeling better, although still really tired. I am anxious to get back into exercizing and out of the house a little more. I can't wait until the fall when the weather is nicer and we can play in the backyard and at the park. I am finding that I have a hard time being housebound. I am going a little stir crazy. But I wouldn't change it for the world. I am so lucky to have the most amazing husband in the world and the two cutest kids! Obviously, they take after their daddy. :)

Coming Home

This is the outfit Addilyn wore home from the hospital.

We have been home for a few days now and the adjusting period has begun. Carter is doing better than I thought he would... although there is still time for that to change. He is a little more needy. He wants us to play with him a little more and stuff like that. The cutest thing he does though it to pull a chair over to the sliding glass door where Addilyn lays in her bassinet. He just touches her and watches her. It's so so DARLING! She is a little bit jaundice so we have her in the sunlight as much as possible. Hopefully the doctor has good news about her condition when we go in there today.
Bryan has the month off (he is now officially in his 4th year of school!!!!) so he is here to play with Carter. My mom is also in town for the week to help me out. Addi is sleeping like a newborn... every 2 1/2 to 3 hours she wakes up to eat, then promptly falls asleep while eating. But things are going great overall. We'll see how I am feeling in a week or two about everything. She is so cute and I can't imagine our family without her. I also can't imagine being pregnant again! :)

Introducing Little Addilyn

Here's some pictures of little Addi. She was born on May 31st at 8:27 pm. She was 7 lbs 15 oz, and 19.5 inches long. She is adorable and we can't wait to bring her home.
