Why Not?

So, as I have mentioned a few hundred times, I L-O-V-E taking pictures. I also love scrap booking. Unfortunately, these are two very expensive habits, so.... I am going to start taking pictures of people... and making them pay me... to support my habits... and not feel guilty every time I want a new lens.... or go to a scrap booking class.
Since I am just getting started I am only charging $75 for a session. This is very reasonable considering my competition. And I give the disk to people. It always makes me mad when I can't have the disk of pictures of my kids. I mean, what is the dang photographer going to do with them, for crying out loud!?!
So, if you know anyone that wants to help me in my quest to take at least 2 scrap booking classes a month, plus an occasional late-nighter at the scrap booking store, please send them my way. They can always look at my
photo blog which I constantly update with pictures... mostly of my kids because they are the only willing and able ones around... actually, Addi is willing, Carter is able. :)

What Cuties!

Some of these pictures are on my photoblog, too, but I just wanted to put them on here. I mean, who doesn't like to show off their kids? (nieces included).
This one of Carter is him looking through one of the holes in those tunnel things on the playground. We were playing with them and I couldn't resist snapping a picture.

Male Bonding

Carter always wants to go help Bryan out in the yard. Whenever he hears the landscapers working on the common areas he swears it's Daddy out there and gets so angry with me when I don't let him go out and work with him. He will get out his plastic tools when Bryan is working on a project, too. It's so awesome to see how in love he is with his Daddy. It makes me so happy that he has a great guy to look up to and admire.

A Few of My Favorites

These pictures are a few of my favorites right now.
This one of Addi is one of my favorite pictures I have ever taken. I love that you can see her smile through her crib ruffle. I also love that her eyes always hold so much expression. She is so stinking cute!!

She has been sick the past few days. Poor little thing. Those red eyes... breaks my heart. (proof that even from a young age, girls love bubble baths!)

How Do You Get...

...an often fickle 2 1/2 year old boy to eat this oh-so-tasty salad? Why, you turn it into his face...
Worked like a charm. He ate every last bite!! (Kudos to Bryan for coming up with the idea.)

Christmas Morning

Christmas morning this year was SO much fun!!! This is the first year that Carter really got it. He is constantly asking when Santa is going to come again. When I told him that Bryan was out building things in the garage today (you should see the storage shelves he built for the garage!!! YEAH!!!!!) he said, "Building me toys for Christmas?" Wow... I think he may be spoiled. But he was young enough this year to not wake up at 4 AM and want to go down stairs. It was so awesome to spend Christmas as a little family. Later in the day, Grammie and Granddad came over with Aunt Nellie, Aunt Noelle, and Aunt Naomi. Here's Addi in one of her Aunts' new hats. What a cutie!

Addilyn definitely had the most fun with the wrapping paper and ribbon. Don't tell her but that is why she only had 2 presents to open... and Carter helped with both!Carter was SO excited that Grammie and Granddad got them a wagon. He couldn't wait to go for a ride in it. After 5 minutes he showed back up like this... with Aunt Noelle's hat and scarf and that look on his face... He's a Zonie at heart, I guess.

Look what Santa brought Addi!! A bikini!!! I can tell that she LOVES it. And you should see her chunky thighs in it! SO FREAKING DARLING!

Carter's stocking stuffers were his favorite things from Santa... why did Santa spend all that money on a remote control car...? What a moron he is...

Scripps Aquarium

While we were in San Diego for New Years, we went to the Scripps Aquarium. It was so much fun to watch Carter be completely enthralled with the fish. I think my little smarty pants is going to be a marine biologist. He totally knew what the jelly fish were!! I'm sure this has NOTHING to do with the fact that he loves Spongebob... everyone who loves Spongebob knows how much Spongebob LOVES to go jellyfishing... :)

Bryan had the camera for once so I'm actually in a few pictures!! YIPPEE!!

Mommy and her Big Boy. ("I'n not a baby!" -- one of his favorite things to say.)

Carter, overlooking La Jolla.Nona, Papa, and little Miss Addi-cakes. Don't you LOVE her new soft jacket? It has a matching blanket! (thank you Nona and Papa!!)

Papa tried to get Addilyn to play with the plastic crab... not interested...

My Photo Blog

A few weeks ago I decided to start a photo blog. I take a lot of pictures that no one really cares to see, so I am starting a photo blog. I will also put pictures that I take of other people on there. This semester I am taking a class from Wendy Schulz who is a very talented photographer. She is another reason I am starting this other blog. I am excited to see the improvement over the next several months. It has only been up and going for a week and I have already noticed a difference and learned a ton.
So, on a rainy day, feel free to check it out. Don't get your hopes up too high though... and PLEASE remember that I AM A BEGINNER!!!!
Here is the blog.
I have also decided to really start taking pictures for people... you know... making them pay me. :) I have had enough people ask and I feel confident enough that I know I can get some good shots.... but, again: BEGINNER!!!
