Better Late Than Never

Christmas morning this year was absolutely wonderful. Carter actually "got it" and we were able to start some fun traditions. One of the traditions is one that Bryan grew up with. Every year his family would put up a sheet so the kids couldn't see what Santa had brought. So, we decided to do the same. Carter came and got us when he got up (at 7:30- YEAH!) and as soon as Addilyn woke up we went around the sheet and down the stairs to the wonderful gifts that awaited them. They had a blast opening gifts. They were even kind enough to help us open ours. :)

Addilyn got me bracelets for Christmas... not a shocker since she LOVES wearing and breaking my bracelets. In the picture above you can see that she was already loving them while opening her present.

And the girl presents begin. This was the first time she really got "girlie" presents. But Carter likes to put his trains and cars in the stroller and go tearing around the house, too.

Carter thinks that every present under the tree was from Santa... in a way, he's right. :)

Bryan's favorite present.

This was the kids Santa present. It's more for the whole neighborhood. It is out EVERY day and we... I mean, Santa, has already gotten his money's worth out of it. Addi LOVES to cruise around in it. Carter is quite the driver. Let's just say he won't be getting his licence until there are some SERIOUS lessons taken. WOW! NO ONE is safe when that kid's behind the wheel.

More Tutu Fun

Here are some more pictures from the tutu session I did with Addi. A little shout out to Bridget Martineau, one of my very fave people, for letting me use her girl's bedroom. (Built by her hubby... can you BELIEVE this is her daughters' room? Would you DIE as a little girl?!?) Anyways, I am putting more of these on my photo blog in the next day or two. I just love the way they turned out. I love my little she-tank!!

Out of the Mouth of Babes

The other morning Bryan and I were asleep when we heard Carter calling for Bryan. (Yeah for him calling for Daddy and NOT Mommy.) Bryan went and found him in the bathroom and asked him what he needed.
"Daddy, my bum coughed."
"What?"
"My bum coughed."
After inspecting the toilet on which Carter was sitting he realized he had a little diarrhea. So, he asked Carter if he had made a "brown" (to technical around here) and if he needed help.
"Yeah, Daddy, I made a brown. And then I made another one and another one and another one and another one..." (he repeated that about 15 times.)
Maybe it's just me but this cracked me up. If you think about it, it does kind of sound like coughing some times... :) Love that kid.

Preview

I am just starting to work on some pictures of Addilyn that I took of her when she turned 18 months (in the beginning of December.) I think this one may be my favorite... We'll see.

It's a miracle!!!

I am FINALLY updating my blog. The past month I have completely given up on photo shopping and because of the way I take my pictures (I don't take pictures in JPeg format) I have no choice but to photo shop every picture I take... So, I am FINALLY getting on the ball and starting the LONG process of playing catch up.
Anyways, for their Christmas present, Carter's preschool teacher took them all Ice Skating. It was HYSTERICAL!!! Carter loved the idea but wasn't that fond of the actual act. But there was some snow to play on so that helped matters. He was so cute out there. I stayed off the ice to take pictures. He headed out with his little buddy Koen and Koen's daddy, Brad. (Who, for the record, also can NOT ice skate... it only added to the humor.)

Brad with Koen (left) and Carter.

They finally made it to the snow.
And played there for a while.

The boys only skated on the ice for about 20 minutes but enjoyed watching everyone else and then having hot chocolate and cookies. (Carter is on the left.)
