Brotherly Love

I wanted to get a few pictures of Carter with Preslee while she was super little. He wasn't too thrilled with the idea. "She's scratching me!" "Are we done yet?" "Preslee's hotter than a blanket, Mom." "She keeps moving."
But, the beauty of pictures is that you can't hear my whining child, right? So, just pretend he's happy and loving his little sister. (Which normally, he is.... just not when she's on his bare back.)

This is my new favorite picture of Carter and as much as I would love to take cradit for it, I can't. My good friend and neighbor, Chelsea took it. Clearly, she's an amazing photographer... even though it's not hard to make this kid look cute. ;)

Welcome!

Welcome to the Wyeth home at 2:00am... Wanna come over?

Flashback

While my mom was here and we were taking FAR too many pictures of Preslee, we took a minute to put Addilyn in this little dress. This is a dress from when I was little. It has a wonderful little story behind it too. My parents were far too poor to afford it. My mom was, I want to say, around $20 short of what it cost at this little boutique. She walked around with it, pining, while the two sales women looked on. She finally put it back, knowing they didn't have the money, when these two lovely women told her she could pay what she had and they would cover the rest. My mom LOVES this dress. They have a picture framed in their home of me wearing it, with the same dark curls and chubby cheeks that my daughter is now sporting. When I think of pictures of me when I was a toddler, the picture of me wearing this dress comes to mind. It's funny how things come full circle.

Innocence

I am trying to soak up every last moment I can with Preslee. (This is evident through the over 150 pictures I have already taken of her.) She's so sweet and I know in a few years she'll have her own little opinions and desires. So, right now, I just enjoy her little cry and cuddles. One thing we have learned about Preslee in the few short weeks that she has been here is that she can go from 0 to 60 in 2 seconds flat. She can seriously let those screams rip like no infant I've ever heard. I hope that's not a sign of things to come...
By the way, these are more pictures from the same little photo shoot last week. There are also some new ones and, fear not, there are more to come as I edit them.

Loving This!!

I can't help but love this little girl! Actually, that's not entirely true. She's our little handful. She has an opinion and will insist on giving it until you see eye to eye with her. But it's that addi-tude, which we call it, that makes her so endearing. Sometimes I don't see it that way so I just need an occasional reminder. (She's napping right now so she's super easy to love.)

First Day of (Pre)school!

The kids started Preschool this week. They are both taking from the lady that Carter took from last year. She is AMAZING! I heart her! So do the kids. Addilyn knows her well from last year even though she wasn't in her class. Carter goes 3 times a week and Addilyn goes one day a week. She loved it today and it was her first day. I am loving the little breaks I get here and there and it's seriously awesome to get the kids out of the house and doing something. I know the last month or so has been hard on them being inside and cooped up so much. They've been troopers with their cranky mommy.

Carter's backpack almost outweighs him but that's the one he wanted.

Carter and Miss Jodi.

yep, that's a Dora backpack... I know...

Addilyn FINALLY getting her turn in the classroom. She has waited a whole year to be able to stay instead of just watching her big brother get to do it.

Oh, To Be Done!!

Today was my official due date. Just THINKING about still being pregnant literally makes me sick to my (soft, flabby) stomach. I'm SO happy that Pletee Baby (as Addilyn calls her) is here and NOT still in my tummy. Here are some pictures I took of her today. While she looks small she is already growing and FAR too big to fit inside me still. It makes me sad that this is it. This is my baby. My last baby... and she's growing. She's so darling and sleeping so well (for the most part). I can't imagine our family without her even though she's only been here 12 days.

The First of Many

Yesterday my mom and sister helped me with Preslee's first photoshoot. It was fun to say the least. For months I have been buying accessories for these shoots. ("But Bryan, they will pay for themselves once I use them for some one else ONE TIME! Plus, this baby is going to get so many hand-me-downs we have to do SOMETHING that will be only hers, right?" He just rolled his eyes.) Anyways, without further adieu, here she is. (There was a lot more I wanted to do that I didn't get around to so wait around a while I and we'll have some more on here. :))

Addilyn wanted to get in on the fun, which is REALLY unusual, so we took advantage of it. Dirty feet, markered hands, and all!

Introducing Miss Preslee Ann

I was induced on August 1st, Saturday morning. They started pitosin at 8:30. I was a 4 and about 60% effaced, which was much further than I was with either of the other 2 kids. My doctor came in around 9:45 to check on me and decided to break my water. This was awesome because that's really what gets my labor going. I progressed slowly, got an AWESOME epidural when I was a 5, and just kind of waited. Bryan, being under SO much stress (insert eye roll) got in a few games of Madden on his Xbox and even managed an hour and 1/2 nap. Things finally kicked into high gear around 2:15 when I felt her drop. She was a 10 and ready for arrival. Dr Holmes was there within 15 minutes, I pushed 3 times, and along came Preslee. The nurse cleaned her up on my stomach (which still has an unusually large surface area). I've never had that before. It was really cool and pretty nasty. More than once I had a little white amniotic fluid filled hand smack me in the face, but it was still really neat to have her right there after she was born.
My mom was at the hospital to be there with me so Bryan and I decided to ask her to stay for the birth (with the rule that she HAD to be right by my head). I was really happy to have her be a part of the birth of my second daughter. I was her second daughter and she's my mom so... why not, right? She was THRILLED to be invited and I was really happy to have someone there to take pictures of everything. (ok, not EVERYTHING, but of a lot of things.) My dad came right after the birth and our room had a revolving door until we checked out of the hospital yesterday morning. It's so awesome to see how many people already love this little girl. She's changing daily; becoming less puffy and red but still sleeping a lot! That's what we like! We are so happy to have her be a part of our family. Here are her stats:
~Born at 2:45pm on Saturday, August 1st.
~21 3/4 inches long
~8 pounds 6ounces (impressive since she was 12 days early... little fatty!)

Waiting...
My first look at her. Don't mind my extra chins... we'll say it's a bad angle but I think we all know the truth. :)This is the first time Bryan held her. I am on the phone with Carter telling him that his baby sister is here. He kept asking why his little sister was crying and if I had needles in me.
Bryan is getting some video and my dad is making fun of me for texting instead of being concerned that Preslee is screaming her head off. True sign that I'm not a first time mother, I guess.
Bryan, Dr. Holmes, Renee (my super awesome nurse), Preslee and me. This is what Addi spent most of her time doing when she came to visit. That girl LOVES to "dwup" on anything.
"A lug!" Addilyn loves to give her baby sister "lugs" (hugs). We'll see how long that lasts.

The proud big brother. (He wouldn't drink my water at the hospital because it was my "baby water." I think he thought it was going to make him sick...? Or have a baby? Not real sure.)
I love that my kids are born with hair!! Hers even has some red in it.
Still a little puffy. She's about 30ish hours old here.
How Preslee and I spent our evenings.
Welcome home Preslee. Let reality begin. We love you!!
