How is this possible?

As I sit here not sleeping... again.... I think to myself how crazy it is that in a few short hours (at least right now they seem short) we are going to have a little girl to go along with the little boy we already have. What the crap are we thinking having another kid?!? Beyond that, I seriously don't see how it's possible to love another little person as much as I love Carter. The amount of joy and laughter (not to mention stress and frustration) he brings me seems impossible to match. People say you just love your other kids the way you love your first. We'll see I guess. In less than an hour we are leaving for the hospital to have Addilyn. (Our Doctor changed the induction date so he can make it to the Beach Boys concert on Friday night... no, I am not kidding.) Hopefully all will go smoothly and she will come out as cute (or "tute" as he says) as her big brother. He has no idea what's about to happen. He thinks that Addilyn is just another word for Mommy's ever growing tummy. I wonder how long it will take him to figure out that she's not leaving like Tag and Josh leave with their parents. I hope he adjusts well. I gotta say, I am really going to miss spending so much one-on-one time with him.
In this picture, Carter was suppose to be napping in his bed... obviously, he decided that he and Puppy (tucked under his arm) would rather read. Eventually he must have passed out because this is how we found him. What a little turkey! Man, I love that kid!

This Pretty Much Says It All!

Carter for the most part has been really good about staying in his bed when it's time for nap or going down for the night. Sometimes he'll get out and play before he goes to sleep for his nap but we put him back in his bed and tell him to stay and he does. He can't get back in his bed by himself because it's too tall. He can, however get out alone. So, last night we went in to kiss him good night around 11:00 and he was laying on the floor like this... completely asleep. He hadn't gotten any of his toys out and he didn't seem to have fallen out... not real sure what happened. What a goofball!

The Cupboard

Yesterday while I was putting on my makeup Carter decided he wanted a new place to hide. He was playing with his cars under Bryan's sink in the cupboard (which is empty) when he had the fabulous idea and realization that HE would fit under there. So, under there he went. He made sure to tell me "bye" before he closed the door. After playing for a minute he came out, got his sippy cup and returned to his new little fort. Then he must have realized how boring it would be without any cars so he came back out again and got his cars before returning for good. Carter would open the door every 30 seconds or so and tell me goodbye again. The only thing he had a hard time with was reclosing the door from the inside. But, fear not: Daddy to the rescue. Bryan tied one of his belts to the door so Carter could just pull on the belt from the inside and the door would close much more easily. He was seriously in hog heaven. It was so fun to watch his brain work and try to figure out how to make the most of this new little room he discovered.

My Cute Little Neices!!

Nice hair, Gracie!

Abby is showing us her Easter egg! They had so much fun hunting for those!!
Grace was all tuckered out after searching for eggs.

Trying to tan their little bodies! It didn't work all that well. :) (Grace is on the left and Abby on the right.)

Grace and Abby are the most hysterical things around! They are always good for a laugh (especially since I'm not the disciplinarian). The other night Grace was saying prayer at dinner. Normally Kel and Rob help them pray but she just started on her own so they let her go for it. Her prayer went something like this: "I love Nona and Papa. I love Bryan and Jenny..." I guess I should include that she did go on to name the rest of the people in the family but I'm sure we were the first!

They also LOVE little Addilyn already. They always ask me if they can see the baby and they want to kiss my belly. I keep telling them that she is still cooking and will come out after their birthday (May 26). So, now they think they are getting her FOR their birthday!!! What goofy girls!
