Up and Running

I finally have my website up and running. I decided a few months ago to take the plundge and get a website. Something a little more official than my pbotoblog. So, when you have time, check it out. There are sure to be some changes to it and hopefully some music in the next few days but I haven't gotten that far. Let me know what you think! jenniferwyethphotography.com

And the "Worst Mom Ever" Award Goes To...

ME!! That's right. I'm the Mom who has not only NOT blogged about BOTH children's birthdays, but didn't even bother taking pictures on her wonderful husband's birthday... all of which have happened in the last month. I know, lame right? So, we're rolling both kids' birthdays into one post.
We'll start with Addilyn's second birthday. It was May31st. She's now officially two... in every single last sense of the word. She's feisty and mighty opinionated. She's also learning something new every day and absolutely hysterical and so very very darling. (Although she is the cutest when she's asleep.) For her birthday we had a Dora party with just family. I always swore I'd never be one of "those" moms. The ones who feed kids obsessions with characters. But what baby wants, baby gets. And you're only a kid once, right?

She got more Dora crap than I care to think about. Some of it WILL be getting lost in the wash... more than likely the loud annoying ones. :)
On her actual birthday we let her open her presents from us. She got some cute clippies... which she wanted to wear ALL of at one time. She also got two cute necklaces. (please excuse the bed head. She had just rolled out of bed.)
Carter's birthday was June 24th. We had a little- LITTLE- party at Runkin and Hillary's house and went swimming. He made out like a bandit. I can't believe my little guy is FOUR!! Where has the time gone? He's realizing that he can make his own decisions and doesn't always have to do what I tell him to. It's rather irritating. But, he's so very smart. He's reading and writing like a champ and SO much fun to be around. He is so eager to learn. I love watching his little personality because I feel like I get a glimpse into what Bryan was like as a little boy. He processes EVERYTHING you tell him. He takes things so literally... which makes for some interesting stories.
Like today: When we got to swim lessons the other day the people had a tree in their front yard that had a bunch of water at the base, waiting to be sucked up by the roots. Carter asked me why there was water there and I told him that the tree sucks up the water and drinks it. He said, "Yeah, because trees need water to stay alive." End of subject. So, today, when we got there the water was gone. He asked me where the "sippers" (straws) on the trees were. I was REALLY confused. I told him trees didn't have sippers. He said, "Yes they do Mom. Where are they?" I repeated that trees don't have sippers and where did he hear they do? He told me I was the one that told him they do. Ummm... don't remember doing that but ok... Then he said, "Remember, they suck up the water and drink it with sippers." Oh! Got it! So, we had the conversation about roots and what they do. (Sorry, not so quick side note, but it's a story I want to remember and it's SO Carter.)
Without further adieu, here are some pictures from Carter's birthday.

More Pointless Blogging

I just finished up a photography class so I have a lot of pictures of my kids that don't really have a story behind them. I turned a few of these pictures in for my last assignment. My mobility and motivation are limited these days so... you get what you get. Clearly Carter wasn't home while I was shooting away.... oh well. Next time it will be his turn.

A Blog About Nothing

Here are a few of my favorite pictures I have taken this week. Nothing too exciting but that's ok...

The trees in the back yard are overgrown and really need to be trimmed, so the kids have decided to do it themselves. :)

Hanging out by the pool at Aunt Hill and Runkin's. (Yes, yet another bathing suit.)

I'm Sorry... I Just Can't Help It....

I have a problem... a big one. Little girl bathing suits. I heart them. Seriously... Here are a few of her bathing suits. She has some more I need to get pictures of her in. They are also darling. And don't worry she does have a few one pieces... but they show a lot of cleavage. :)

Splashing compliments of Daddy.

Swim Lessons... again

My kids are totally digging swim lessons. Their teacher, Miss Pam of Shamrock Swim, is a FABULOUS teacher. They have both improved SO much!! Here are some pictures from their adventures.
Floating on her back... this has already come in handy. :)

Jumping off the diving board isn't her favorite. She only does it every now and then and it's good for her. Builds character. :)

Carter flops like a fish out of water when he jumps off the diving board. Goof ball.

Me in All my Pregnant Glory

I had a friend of mine, Janelle, who is seriously one of my VERY favorite photographers take some pictures of me yesterday. (I asked her right after I found out I was pregnant to do this for me.) We had a blast out playing together. Normally we both have our cameras out. It was different being the sole subject. Despite ending up with some splinters and giggling through several awkward positions (my balance isn't what it normally is... a little front heavy) she took some great shots and we have a lot of fun hanging out and talking shop. Thanks Janelle!!! If you are looking for a great photographer (while I'm not taking pictures of course;)) contact her. Click HERE to see the pictures. (While you're there, check out all her work. She really is amazing.)

***Quick side note: Janelle and her husband and daughter are looking to add to their eternal family via adoption so if you know anyone that is looking to give their baby up, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE contact me for Janelle's information. I have thought once or twice about giving her one of mine. :)***

My Little Accessorizer

My little accessorizer doesn't care what type of accessory she is offered. You may look at this first picture and wonder what she is wearing. Well, Carter's goggles bit the dust a few weeks ago and I LOVE them. Actually he loves them. They are the only ones that don't pinch his eyes. So, I ordered some (I could only find them on the Internet) and knew my little girl well enough that she would want some too. And sure enough, when they arrived she was thrilled I had some for her to wear. She still had 30 minutes before her swim lesson starts but wanted to have them on anyways.
Quick side note: The reason she looks like a mad scientist is because we woke up early to have breakfast at Grammie's and went straight to swim lessons with her Medusa hair as I call it.

Bubbles!!

Last week Ben and Jessica (Bryan's brother and sister-in-law) came down with their three kids for the week. It was SO fun seeing them. Evelyn and Carter play so well together and before too long so will Hannah and Addilyn. (Poor Hannah having to put up with Addilyn...)
My favorite part of this picture of Carter jumping is Jessica's face. It just made me laugh... LOL, if you will. ;)

Note to self, Addilyn: Bubbles do NOT taste good. Just a little FYI. :)

Blake, Hannah, and Evelyn
Evelyn and Hannah blowing away. Evelyn was really good at it!
Cute little Hannah.
Thanks for coming down guys! We had a blast and can't wait until next time, whenever that may be.

Slam to the Turf

Growing up we had a game we played with my Dad nearly every night. (Yes, right before bed he would get us all riled up and then my mom- and dad- would have to put us down for bed... hyper...) It was called Slam to the Turf. He would get on all fours and we would climb him like a jungle gym. He would growl like a dog and catch us and give us "honk-n-kisses" (kisses on our cheeks while saying "hooonk". They tickled a TON because he had an AWESOME mustache.) while we would squeal in delight and try to get away.
Times haven't changed a whole lot... only the characters in the game. Now it's his grand kids playing with him... while my mom yells in the background, "Chris, be careful!! Don't throw your back out!" :) Carter LOVES playing Slam to the Turf with Papa. LOVES it!! And every time I watch it it takes me back to my childhood. Those memories are some of my very favorites with my dad. One of the lame things about growing up.

Tag getting in on the fun.
I LOVE LOVE LOVE this picture. From the way my dad's hand is (that's his "tickle stance" with his hand... you know you're going to get it when his hand's like that) to Carter's face. Such happiness and fun!
